All the staff at St. Charles Animal Hospital are amazing. As soon as you walk in you get a friendly greeting. The tech is friendly and helpful. The doctors are always willing to answer any questions. They take their time to address all concerns you may have. You can tell they really care about animals. You don't feel as if they are rushing to just get to the next patient. I love this animal hospital SO much. They recently cared for our old girl Athena in her last weeks with us. My husband had her for 14 years and had to put her to sleep. It was horribly painful but St Charles animal hospital made it a beautiful experience. They are extremely kind and compassionate. Dr Neuman explained the process and gave us as much time as we needed to say good bye. The office is closed due to Covid but for these things you're allowed inside. After her passing we received a heartfelt card from the whole staff and our beautiful box of her ashes a few days later. As hard as it was, I have to say Dr Neuman and his staff made us feel so much better. They helped us cope with her passing and that's above and beyond their duty. They love animals. Also Dr Neuman got my cats on a better diet so they aren't obese anymore. He's passionate about feline diets and he has such a funny and great way of explaining it so that it sticks. I can't forget him explaining how cats like juicy critters so they need the moisture of wet food. I've been giving the same talk to my friends who feed their cats dry food. Anyway, trust me! If you love your animals take them here because they'll love your animal as much, if not more, than you. Jackie P.

Twice now St. Charles Animal Hospital has gone above and beyond for my furbabies!  This is my babies regular vet and I've always been EXTREMELY pleased with their thoroughness during appointments, wait times, and overall care and concern. I have dealt with all 3 doctors, and all are equally amazing! When we unexpectedly lost our 2 year old Yorkie last year, a single rose in a vase was delivered to our house with a signed card with everyone's signature and heartfelt notes. Everyone from the front desk staff to techs, to the doctors truly cares. 2 times now I've had emergencies with my babies, and BOTH times they have been able to be seen right away. The first time my 5lb Yorkie swallowed my son's ADHD pill. Can you say Yorkie on speed?! We brought him in and they graciously fit him in and the end of a very long day I'm sure. Dr. Davis was so sweet and compassionate dealing with Max. They called the next day to check on him, and even a few days after. This second time we were literally driving on the side of a mountain coming home from vacation, and told if we can make it to them by a certain time, immediately come in. Somehow my Yorkie Bandit had swallowed fluff from his bedding. This time I was greeted by Dr. Neuman. We went over several different options for him, and was ultimately sent home with instructions and Dr. Neuman's personal email to keep in touch. As of this review he is still having issues and even though Dr. Neuman isn't in the office this weekend, he is conversing with me about follow up treatment. Did I mention on his day off?! We recently had to take our dog Rogue in to the vet because she wasn't feeling well. Dr. Neuman was wonderful with her, and took the time to explain his reasoning for each part of the exam. He gave us several different treatment options and explained all them to us thoroughly. I always leave these appointments having learned something and knowing that my dogs are getting the best care available. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for care for their pets. I have taken my chiweenie Gibson to this vet for over 5 years. The staff are always friendly and make you feel very comfortable. The waiting area is always clean and they provide snacks and drinks while you wait. Gibson usually sees Dr. Davis or Dr. S. They are both very supportive, detailed oriented and genuinely care about Gibson. Gibson has had a disc issue for over a year. He has had to have several laser treatments that have helped him tremendously every time he has a flare up and is unable to walk. Missy who is an assistant is THE BEST! I request her every time I take Gibson into the office. She is very polite, respectful, caring and does a phenomenal job with Gibson who is extremely anxious and has behavior issues. Unfortunately, Gibson has had a recent flare up with his disc issue. I was terrified that this would be the time I would hear that he would need the typical back surgery that is common with his breed. We had Dr. Neuman who I have always heard great reviews about but had yet to meet. He is by far MY FAVORITE veterinarian. He was very professional and made me feel comfortable about Gibson's reoccurring back injury. Dr. Neuman was very thorough, provided a ton of helpful information and was very optimistic that Gibson would be okay. I was a nervous wreck going into the office but once I started talked with Dr. Neuman I was instantly put at ease. He was very honest and provided excellent tips on how to treat Gibson's life long injury. I HIGHLY recommend this animal hospital for any pet. Dr. S and Dr. Davis are great but from now on I will request Dr. Neuman. He is truly phenomenal along with the assistant Missy. Best experience we've had at the vet yet! My boyfriend and I are new to the Waldorf area and have been searching for a vet who could help our 1 year old border collie mix, Lyla, with her constant scratching and reoccurring rashes.  After previously trying 2 other vets in the past 8 months who refused to provide her any meds or provide a proper diagnosis we came across St. Charles Animal. From the time we scheduled our visit to our first appointment everyone was very friendly and professional.  Immediately upon seeing Lyla, Dr. Davis and her Tech Marissa determined she had an infection and an allergy problem. They provided meds which have already showed improvement and thoroughly explained the process of how we can resolve her allergy issue.  They made sure Lyla was comfortable and kept her calm through the whole visit which in turn eased our nerves as well. Just 2 days later, we have a happy puppy who's already stopped scratching. Beware ... St. Charles Animal Hospital and its staff care so much about the health and well being of your loved ones that you'll want to move in and live there! Our little girl is very timid and not well socialized, but the staff and doctor (Siskovich) were so amazing with her that even though she was shaking, I knew she was going to be okay. St. Charles Animal Hospital has provided my puppy consistent, excellent care over the past six months. The front desk staff is friendly, welcoming and efficient. We have health insurance for our dog and the staff cheerfully have helped us navigate any snags in the claims process. The doctors are generous with their time and knowledge. Dr. Neuman, in particular, offers thorough explanations of the problems and solutions. No question goes unanswered. We are thankful for the use of laser surgery that makes healing easier. I felt comfortable the second I walked into St. Charles animal hospital! Yesterday I took my newly adopted kitten in because he wasn't feeling good. Needless to say the facility and the staff were amazing. The receptionists were friendly, welcoming, and warm towards me. The best of all were my little guys vet technicians, they went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable while they checked him out. In addition they were more than willing to answer all my questions and help teach me things to keep my guy safe and healthy. I would definitely recommend taking your fur babies in to be treated here. Relocated new to the area and started looking for a Vet to care for my family member due to signs of a breathing issue. We stopped in as we saw the sign at the entrance of the roadway and was hoping they would help and not point us to another location like a couple of previous ones had. They took my dog in with no prior scheduled appointment.  Dr. Neuman not only provided a clear diagnosis but presented all options and provided me in my family on how to make my 10 year old dog's life more comfortable as well as great education on what was happening, to include listening to his heart so we could hear the issue. The Doc provided a prescriptive pharmaceutical regiment as well as peace of mind for my wife and daughter.  Dr. Neuman and his staff were all caring, empathetic and extremely professional. The pharmaceutical regiment was not costly and the office visit fair in price. Though it was clear there was no full cure, it was clear we still had some time with him.  Also upon paying my bill the staff had heard that I was Military and they provided a discount.  First time in my life I had ever received anything like that from a Vet clinic.  Dr. Neuman and this hospital have made me and my family a patron for life or as long as we are in this area. The staff are very friendly and organized. The facility is nice. Dr. Neuman is wonderful, and all of the techs are too. We have been very pleased with the quality of care and expertise provided. This review speaks to the care I have received from Dr. Neuman and his office staff. Dr. Neuman is currently treating my four elderly cats. If you are looking for a professional and caring vet, he is both. His thorough explanations of all procedures is a welcome relief to any pet owner. There is never any push to do anything, but he presents the pros and cons. The emphasis on pain management after surgical procedures was extremely important to me. My cats were handled with respect and gentleness. I could always reach him for answers to my questions. Everyone I came in contact with was exceptional. What makes a difference in this office is sufficient staff handling the variety of jobs that need to be done so the customer does not feel left hanging or rushed. The vet techs were knowledgeable, and the front office runs with calm precision. Anyone who has ever visited a vet's office where it is a mad house will appreciate how this office runs. A small but important touch is cats and dogs have opposite sides in the waiting room. I also feel that if anyone has any problems with how their pet is handled or the treatment they receive, Dr. Neuman would want to know about it. His emphasis seems to be on care to your pet and YOU. I've been elsewhere, but as long as Dr. Neuman is practicing, he will be my choice.  Sharon F.

My cat does NOT like to be handled. He can be rather difficult. The Dr.and Technician handled my cat quite well. They were able to get an x-ray, administer an IV of much needed fluids and get a blood sample. That's a LOT for my cat. I appreciate the kindness and patience show to my cat. He can be a quite disagreeable. I'm also very thankful for the attention to my concerns. I don't know who can get a cat to take a pill, but me nor my husband nor my son can. So they called the company ordered a liquid version for me. We truly appreciate that level of professionalism. We've been with St Charles Animal Hospital for several years now.  Pam C.

My dog wasn't feeling well, I called on a Saturday morning and they gave me an appointment within the hour. Dr. Smiley was awesome! He was very patient with me and my little Sasha. She tends to get very excited when at the vet. He answered all of my questions in great detail. St. Charles Animal Hospital make you feel like you're a part of this wonderful family/atmosphere that they have going on there. We love this place. I've had nothing but good experiences at this office. At our latest visit, the Technicians and Dr. Siskovich were absolutely wonderful. My pitbull, Holly, loved all the attention she got - they really made her feel comfortable. It's the same no matter which of my dogs goes to the vet. They are all warm, caring people who really love the animals they see, which is important to me in a vet. After all, we can't explain to our pets why they're there, so it's nice that the staff really tries to make them as comfortable as possible.  Cassandra C.
